An afternoon chat with my co-girl badings and real badings in the office led to one scary realization. We all have no savings! Either we have zero savings, or too little savings. This should be fine if we're a bunch of fresh grads in their first jobs, but we're shamelessly not. Most of us are senior manager levels and associate directors, in a fast, exciting agency world.
Not to bore you with this poor, sad thing, a quirky officemate who stood at 4 feet 11 inches made the whole pantry burst into laughter. Here's how.
Officemate 1: Is it sweldo na? Grabe I have to open my piggy bank na pag wala pa ha!
Officemate 2: Lucky you, you have a piggy bank. Ako, none at all. I have my payroll ATM and that's it.
Officemate 3: Oo nga eh, I have to pay so much pa naman. Like my car last month I need to change tires, it cost me 12 MILLION PESOS.
Officemate 1: Wow, grabe ha, KONTI nalang ha, mayabang ka na!!! =)
*Fact: 90% of Filipinos have no or too little savings. Majority of us also do not care about insurance and retirement funds. Two main reasons of not saving are: TOO LITTLE INCOME TO SAVE, or DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO.
Isn't that sad and wicked?
